West Elm opening @ the streets of Southpoint in Durham, NC
August 27th, 2012
As promised…. today we will be sharing with you our pictures and thoughts from last week’s trip to celebrate the opening of the new west elm @ Southpoint in Durham
It all started with the coolest invitation… printed on 100% sustainably harvested wood.
We absolutley LOVED this idea, who would have thought to print an invitation on a piece of wood? ….oh I know, WEST ELM! This invitation just illustrates how fun and eclectic this brand is.
Here we are! Let’s just say that two designers stepping into west elm, is like two little kids walking into an amazing candy store. Before we had even fully stepped inside, 20 things had already caught our eye! Like this chair…
Can you say LOVE?
As we entered, we were greeted by Melalina Barefield, a friendly west elm representative….
Next time you’re at west elm, be sure to ask for her, she was so sweet and helpful!
Aside from having fabulous furniture, west elm did a wonderful job with this event. There was a great DJ (who played some of my -as in Dina’s- favorite songs) and they even had a “smilebooth” where you could take your own pictures! Talk about fun! Check them out at their website, the smilebooth is the PERFECT addition to a fun event.
So not only did they have amazing furniture & accessories, a great DJ, and a fun photobooth but they ALSO had amaaazzing bites and wine!
And to top it all off, a portion of the night’s proceeds was dedicated to SEEDS, a nonprofit educational community garden dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture and respect for the environment through gardening and growing food.
Let’s just say, we really enjoyed ourselves.
WAY TO GO west elm, thank you for the invite to this fun event.
