Cutting costs on fabric…
While fabric can make a room look fabulous, it can also place a burden on your wallet. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind when looking for a fabric!
*Pay attention to not only the cost per yard, but also the size of the repeat. Large patterns can end up using more fabric than necessary.
*Stick with solids, stripes, neutrals and basic prints in the lower-priced fabrics.
*Save the high-end fabrics, with bold colors and patterns, for smaller pieces like pillows or ottomans. That way they will have a higher impact.
*A great place to check for fabric is a mill end outlet or factory store, who usually have great deals on discounted fabrics, overruns, or fabrics with slight imperfections.
*For drapery lining, provide your own instead of having the workroom supply it, by shopping for it on sale.
Hope this helps!
