The first portable timepiece was invented in the 1500’s by Peter Henelein.  It was easy to carry but walking made it impossible to keep time. In 1795, French watchmaker Abraham- Louis Perrelet developed the first self-winding watch.

Now,
many people no longer wear a watch preferring to check the time on their cell phone.  
Not Me! 
I think it is a classic accessory and part of my wardrobe.
