The Symphony Guild Of Charlotte 2010 Designer House at the METTerraces
May 10th, 2010
I was able to get to the Designer House in Charlotte, NC this weekend at the MET Terraces. Three different units were decorated by 18 area designers. The first unit designed for the Traditional Empty Nester, the second unit designed for the Transitional Urban Family and the third unit for the Contemporary Young Professional. Betty Kohn, Allied ASID, designed the Master Bedroom and Bath for the Transitional Urban Family Unit. She was kind enough to share insight and allow me to take pictures of her room.
The room was painted pink-custom mixed to match the designer’s mother’s raincoat. A sweet sweet tribute to her mother.
Notice the touch of pink on the back of the chair.
Gorgeous embroidery on the pillow. A simple and beautiful detail.
Notice the Stark Carpet bound into a beautiful rug that added another
textural detail to the room.
Another pretty bolster pillow with such wonderful detailing
The etchings above the bed were the perfect color for the room.
I loved the seashell on the books as you leave the room.
Betty feels that it is important to introduce a sense of history when working
with new construction. I could not agree more. Those collected touches
add sense of history and makes the room so much more inviting!
Thank you Betty!
