Sneak Peak at Benjamin Moore’s 2013 Color Pulse

August 16th, 2012

When creating this year’s theme of Intersection, Benjamin Moore’s color experts looked through various disciplines for inspiration. They discovered a combination of concepts, colors, materials and textures “surfacing in new and unexpected ways.”

“As we look to the future, we find that our ideas are rooted in the past. What is new is in the details.” Benjamin Moore’s Andrea Magno

The idea of “intersection” is influenced by four main ideas…
FLOW: Color, texture and shapes of the past are reintroduced creating a look that brings comfort and familiarity and yet is modern. Through deliberate use of saturation and chroma, the past is reinvented.

CYCLE: What was once disposable assumes a renewed life, with the huge turning itself inside-out. By repurposing elements through unusual color and material pairings, brilliance emerges in unforeseen ways.

ANIMATE: Chroma advances leading to an isolated utopia. Through these bold and dynamic colors, happiness quietly assumes it’s natural position in life.
CONNECT: Color strikes a path through virtual elements, illuminating the familiar and material world. The matrix that is technology evolves into an organic form.

I hope you all enjoyed this as much as we did! It’s so refreshing to see a company pull inspiration from the past in such a creative way!
