How to sell your home fast!

We’ve all heard of stagers…but how many of us really know what they actually do? Well…we’re here to tell ya!

Staging involves depersonalizing a home to appeal to the largest number of buyers. In simple terms, stagers set the mood for buyers and create a space that is attractive to them. When a buyer comes into your home, they aren’t interested in the history that your “stuff” reflects, they want to be able to visualize themselves in the space.

Here are a few simple home staging tips from HGTV:

1. BYE BYE Clutter: The first step is getting rid of the clutter. The less you have, the larger your spaces look.

2. Furniture Groupings: Furnish your space by floating furniture away from the walls. Placing pieces so that the traffic is obvious will make the space more user friendly and it’ll feel bigger.

3. Great lighting: A key factor in selling your home quick is great lighting because it is inviting. Believe it or not, many of our homes are improperly lighted. Increase the wattage in your fixtures, aiming towards 100 watts for every 50 square feet. Make sure you have three types of lighting: ambient (general or overhead), task (pendant, under-cabinet or reading) and accent (table and wall).

Check out how staging gave these two spaces a much needed makeover!

Black and White are two colors that always create beautiful contrast. The white desk against the black wall along with the chair’s contrasting upholstery adds interest to the vignette.

This blue and white dining room is full of contrasting shapes. The square bench and chairs contrast with the circular details in the backs of the chairs. The round lines of the scalloped curtain details and the circular mirror also contrast to the square dining table. Not to mention, the blue POPS against the white chairs.
